Meghan Bergman of Meghan Bergman Ceramics is a ceramic artist from Kennett Square, PA.  Her ceramic artwork includes wood-fired bonsai, bowls, cups, mugs, platters, sculptures, teapots, vases, and other ceramics. She is inspired by organic objects and underwater life. Through the use of mostly matte glazes, with a hint of shiny glaze, this gives the illusion of water remaining on the surface of the piece. Each of her wonderful pieces has a perfectly imperfect “wabi-sabi” quality and looks as if it has been taken from the sea.

Meghan Bergman graduated from Carlow University in 2011 with a Bachelors of Arts in Art Education with a concentration in Ceramics. She is currently teaching kindergarten through fifth grade at Greenwood Elementary School in the Kennett Consolidated School District, a suburb of Philadelphia.

In order to be a great art teacher I feel it is essential to also be a practicing artist. In my studio I continue to work mostly with clay creating both sculptural and functional work. I love underwater life, and enjoy bringing the extreme texture and movement to the surface of my ceramic artwork.
